Magic Lantern Film Club And Minima: Nosferatu

This is a genuinely unique event. The Magic Lantern Film Club are teaming up with Minima to bring to us, the citizens of Bristol, a screening of the astonishing German Expressionist film Nosferatu. To add to the uniqueness of the event it will take place in the awe-inspiring setting of St Mary Redcliffe church. So my advice would be to keep those diaries free for the 3rd December at 7pm.

For those of you unaware of The Magic Lantern Film Club here it’s raison raison d’être is:

“to add a touch of enchantment and wonder into your life.
Cinema, with it’s potential to illuminate life’s possibilities, to point to our origins, and our deepest longings, is the perfect platform to share culture, ideas, and simply have a good old chat.”

On top of providing wonderfully entertaining evenings The Magic Lantern Film Club also promise that all the money made on ticket sales will go to Awamu, a charity supporting women and children in Uganda.

Minima are London based musicians who comprise of drums, bass, guitar and cello and specialise in live performance of self composed soundtracks for silent films. They are getting quite a reputation amongst music & film fans alike for producing magical, spell binding performances that perfectly enhance whatever film they’re accompanying.

We have it on good authority also that holy water and vampire blood will be available on the night and there will also be an after party which will be announced at the screening.

Combine The Magic Lantern Film Club, Minima, Nosferatu & the awe-inspiring setting of St Mary Redcliffe church & you have an exceptional evening lined up I’d say.

Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended as this event will probably sell out.
